Erick Morillo has announced Benny Benassi, the man responsible for 'Satisfaction', is to mix the forthcoming Subliminal Sessions 6.....
As his first ever album Benassi has filled the mix with a credible list of exclusives, unreleased mixes and heavy hitters from the likes of Dave Clarke, Praise Cats (E-Smoove) and Harry 'Choo Choo' Romero. Benassi also unveils for the first time his new pseudonym project, Bat 67, for sister label Subusa alongside dark and twisted house cuts from the Subliminal, Sondos and Subusa imprints.
Based in Reggio Emilia (60 miles from Milan), Benny Benassi works as a producer with his cousin Alle Benassi, (a musician and arranger at Off Limits, the internationally successful production unit run by Larry Pignagnoli). After producing KMC feat Dhany (Number 1 in many club charts here in the UK) last year, the Benassi cousins started work on the 'Benny Benassi presents The Biz' project, a ground-breaking mixture of electro, techno and house dosed with minimalist flair.
The first single 'Satisfaction' made its presence felt in the main charts all over Europe including topping national charts in France, Germany and the UK gaining huge status with DJs such as Timo Maas, Carl Cox, Darren Emerson and Norman Cook giving praise. The album 'Hypnotica' is still top 20 in the Official Album Sales Chart in France after over a month, having reached the top 5.
Benny Benassi's crucial remixes include Tomcraft's 'Loneliness' and look out for the Benny Benassi remix of the new Electric Six single, 'Dance Commander' and the new Outkast single, 'Ghetto Musik' which is on the way. Benny and Alle have recently produced Benassi Bros, and are currently enjoying hits with 'Illusion' in France and 'Able To Love' in Germany. Another single from the duo entitled 'No Matter What You Do' is currently in production.
Having DJ'ed extensively round Europe this summer, Benny made his UK debut at The Gallery in Turnmills alongside Tall Paul in September. He brought the house down at Queen in Paris and played the Crobar in Miami this autumn. His style is easy to describe... it's kinda electro, sort of house-tec, dirty and cool, sweaty and smooth. And lastly Benny has been nominated for the prestigious NRJ International Revelation of the Year Award to be assigned in Cannes in January.
